ROSCOE MORGAN, JR., born in Mt. Vernon, KY in 1965, is a multi-instrumentalist, Christian singer-songwriter and producer with 4 solo projects to his credit and numerous guest/band recordings. From sitting in with Earl Taylor at the legendary Aunt Maudie's Bluegrass Club as a child in Cincinnati, to "first call" status as a fill-in musician, to building a successful full-time music instruction and performance business in Maryville, TN, Roscoe has emerged as a Bluegrass force in our generation. Roscoe has shared the stage with such notables as Dale Ann Bradley Band, James King Band, Wildfire, Elmer Burchett, Karl Shiflett and Big Country Show, Dave Evans and River Bend, Pine Mountain Railroad, John Reischman, Valerie Smith and even Bill Monroe! Roscoe is a noted songwriter, powerful tenor vocalist and nationally known mandolin instructor, having taught classes and seminars at the 2003, 2004 and 2005 Steve Kaufman "Kaufman Mando Kamps" alongside greats such as Alan Bibey, John Reischman, Emory Lester, Butch Baldassari, Carlo Aonzo and John Moore, to name a few. Roscoe and his music also appears in Bell Witch (The Movie).
Roscoe has chosen to focus on Christian ministry, performing his own compositions in churches and assemblies wherever God leads. Bluegrass music will no longer be the direction, although Roscoe may appear, for fun, with the occasional Bluegrass group from time to time. Only time will tell.
Roscoe currently resides outside Maryville, TN with his wife Missy, daughter Bethany Melissa, and SuperCat. He has a son, Roscoe Matthew, and a grandson, Raiden. Roscoe's hobbies include record collecting, vintage stereo gear, reading, distance walking and Christian theology.
